Marzipan Bars

Anthon Berg is often associated with the dark chocolate-coated Marzipan Bar. The Marzipan Bar, a Danish classic, was originally produced to satisfy the customers who queued in front of Anthon Berg's shop.

When Anthon Berg began selling candy and chocolate in 1884, sales rocketed and the queue in front of his shop grew rapidly. Certain of the value of good service and quality, Anthon Berg decided to pamper his faithful customers and began making Marzipan Bars to "sweeten" their waiting time. Like everything else Anthon Berg made, the Marzipan Bar became extremely popular and was put into general production in 1898.

The original bar is still made exactly as in 1898 and today, 3 different types of marzipan bars are available to sweeten your day: Original, Double Dark Nibs and Cognac.
